EMpy

EMpy has moved to Github!

EMpy (not to be confused with Empy) is a suite of numerical algorithms widely used in electromagnetism.
The package contains:

an isotropic and anisotropic transfer matrix algorithm;
an isotropic and anisotropic rigorous coupled wave analysis (RCWA) algorithm;
the numerical model of the frequency response of different well-known devices (Mach-Zehnder, Ring Resonators, etc.).

This list, very short by now, will hopefully enlarge to include an FDTD and an interface to the many very good software used in electromagnetism out there.

EMpy is hosted on SourceForge.

Releases can be downloaded from here.
The latest source files are available via CVS, in two ways:
- directly browse the CVS at: http://empy.cvs.sourceforge.net/empy/
- checking out the EMpy module with the command:
  
  cvs -z3 -d:pserver:anonymous@empy.cvs.sourceforge.net:/cvsroot/empy co -P EMpy
  pressing the Enter key when prompted for a password.

Install

EMpy can be installed in the standard pythonic way:

download the source code package
untar it
from the newly created EMpy directory type:

python setup.py install

The installation can be verified by typing from command prompt:

python -c "import EMpy; EMpy.test()"
